Itinerary

Day 1HANOI ARRIVAL (-/-/-)

Welcome to Viet Nam. Meet your tour guide and driver at the airport. Transfer to the city. Check in hotel and have a half day city tour including the Confucian Temple of Literature, site of the first university in Vietnam, Tran Quoc Pagoda and ending at historic Hoan Kiem Lake, Ngoc Son temple, the social center of Hanoi. Overnight in Ha Noi. 

Day 2HANOI - HALONG (B/L/D)

After breakfast, you’ll be driven about 3hrs to famous and magnificent Ha Long Bay for a 2 days/1night. Here you’ll board a charming Junk where you’ll have lunch as you set sail for Titop Island. Spend the afternoon sailing through the 3,000 limestone pinnacles piercing the emerald waters of the Gulf of Tonkin. Ha Long Bay is one of Vietnam’s most incredible natural wonders and was proclaimed a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. You’ll anchor at Titop this evening before an on-deck candlelight dinner featuring gourmet cuisine. O/N Cruise 

Day 3HALONG BAY - HANOI (B/L/-)

You will begin this morning with a sunrise breakfast before your exploration of Luon Cave (Tunnel cave) by sampan. Then continue to visit another part of Bay (Bai Tu Long Bay). Lunch on board. You will disembark the Junk and return to Hanoi. Overnight in Ha Noi. 

Day 4HANOI - HUE (B/L/-)

After breakfast, visit Ho Chi Minh mausoleum and simple stilted house, the One Pillar Pagoda, the Quan Thanh before car transfer to Noi Bai airport for short flight to Hue. Arrival Hue, check in hotel and enjoy Hue city tour – a boat trip up the Perfume River past some dreamy countryside and charming scenes of Vietnamese life to the Thien Mu pagoda. Then continue your exploration of the Royal Tombs of Minh Mang and Tu Duc. Overnight in Hue. 

Day 5HUE - DANANG - HOIAN (B/L/-)

In the morning, visit the majestic Imperial Citadel of Hue and Dong Ba market before driving to Hoi An via scenic Hai Van Pass, where we enjoy the spectacular panorama of the central coastline from the summit. Stop at Lang Co to stretch your legs and enjoy the white sands of this peaceful beach. Arrival Hoi An, check in hotel and have s short visit to Hoi An ancient town . Highlights of your biking tour through cobblestone streets will include the Japanese Covered bridge, the local produce market, Tan Ky House and the Phuc Kien Association. The town is a haven for local artists and there are galleries galore. Hoi An is also particularly well known for its tailors. Overnight in Hoi An.

Day 6HOIAN - DANANG - SAIGON (B/L/-)

Morning, you’ll be transferred to Da Nang airport for your flight to Sai Gon. Upon arrival in Sai Gon, you’ll be driven into town to hotel. After lunch, you will immediately begin your exploration of Sai Gon, the economic powerhouse of Vietnam. You will visit the Reunification Hall and the former US Embassy. Historically, both buildings symbolize the deep scars of this once war-torn country. You also have the chance to see the War Remnant Museum, the Notre Dame Cathedral and general post office that was reportedly designed Gustaf Eiffel. Walk amongst the frenzied merchants and buyers of Cho Lon market and visit Thien Hau Pagoda. Overnight in Sai Gon. 

Day 7SAIGON - MY THO - SAIGON (B/L/-)

The Mekong Delta is the southernmost region of Vietnam. It is often referred to as the rice bowl of Vietnam as it produces three crops of rice per year. The fertile Mekong Delta is also famous for its tropical fruits and flowers.

Leave HCMC to lush My Tho where we cruise on a private boat through the green vegetation of the canals to an orchard, where we are treated to a delicious lunch in a bonsai garden in the heart of the Mekong, complete with tropical fruits. We also visit the snake farm Dong Tam that breeds snakes for, among other things, snake wine and enjoy a bonsai garden in Trung Luong before heading back to HCMC. Overnight in Sai Gon. 

Day 8SAIGON - DEPARTURE (B/-/-)

Free at leisure for shopping or for walking around Sai Gon until transfer to Sai Gon airport for international flight. (If the time of depart at late afternoon, we can arrange Cu Chi tunnel tour before departure).
