Ba Trai Dao Islet ( Three Peaches Islet )
This island consists of three small mountains with the height of 23 m, seen from afar, resemble three peaches (Ba Trai Dao). The islet is a group of three small mountains which look like three peaches from a far. The average height of three mountains is 23 meters. It’s featured with Ba Trai Dao Beach which is one of the most beautiful beaches on Halong bay. The beach has the shape of a bow embracing the islet. However, tourists just can swim at the beach in about 2-3 hours a day because the tide rises and engulfs the beach. The local residents of Halong Bay now still tell the old story about the origination of Ba Trai Dao Islet. Story has it that the youngest daughter of the God fell in love with a poor fisherman. As she wanted him to be immortal to be with her forever, she stole three peaches in the heaven for him. The God noticed and was very angry. He turned three peaches into three stone mountains on the sea. Therefore, the locals named the islet as Three Peaches Islet.
Situated 300 m away from Bai Tho Mountain and 5 km from the Bai Chay Tourist Wharf, a 22-meter islet stands out in Bai Tu Long Bay. It has the shape of truncated sticky rice, which serves as an offering to Buddha. French tourists pay special attention to this rock as in 1992; a French famous actress came there to film some shots of the film Indochina. In the island, some settings are still preserved including the stone-paved road to the beach (often called the Slave Pier), the prisons, etc.
Ngon Tay Islet ( Finger Islet )
On the way to Ti Tốp Island, visitors see a stone rock resembling a thump jutting out of the sea.
Nature has put the Ngón Tay (Finger) Islet here as a reminder of many interesting extras in the discovery of Hạ Long.
Trong Mai Islet ( Cock Couple Islet )
Trong Mai Islet is located at the southwestern Halong Bay, about 5 kilometers from Bai Chay tourist wharf. The islet is about 10 meters high above the sea level. It has the shape of a cock couple rising from the blue sea. These two huge cocks have stood by the other for thousands of years. As the story told by the locals, Trong Mai Islet represents for faithfulness so flove. The islet is most beautiful at dawn, when the sun sheds the first shine of a day and light up the cock couple.
Dua Islet ( Wand Islet )
In Bai Tu Long Bay, some 7 km east of Bai Tho (Poem) Mountain stands a stone islet, which resembles a huge magic wand in Andersen’s fairy tales. It clarifies the geological and geomorphologic significance of Ha Long Bay. Dua Islet serves as an interesting tourist site and a “lighthouse” for seagoing boats.
